(ABC 6 News) – Democratic candidate for Minnesota’s first congressional district Dan Feehan hosted a virtual healthcare discussion Thursday about changes needed in the industry.
Feehan spoke with families in southeastern Minnesota that have been affected by serious medical conditions and how their lives have been shaped because of them. Eyeing a spot in Congress, Feehan was eager to see what people thought needed to be changed about the healthcare industry, such as accessibility and cost of care.
“Unfortunately healthcare is viewed too often as a political issue, but it’s not. It’s a life and death issue. All of you have talked about that in a very real way. I am going to make sure that that message of people first is one that is resonant in southern Minnesota,” Feehan said.
Feehan says that the pandemic has shone a lot on the healthcare industry, illuminating its flaws and revealing how money has been overpowering care and treatments.
